Facebook has released a new app called Bars. Bars will allow users to post and share videos of them rapping with beats in the background. The beats will be provided by TechCrunch.
The app’s main feature includes users being able to record 60 second rap videos over a beat already built into the app. “According to TechCrunch, you can then post the video to a TikTok-style feed, where people can watch it and mark it as “fire” (that is, of course, if your skills are up to par).” says The Verge. The app also guarantees a good autotune feature promising studio quality voice effects.
The app has different levels from beginner to advanced. The beginner level will start with just rhyming and the advanced level gives a freestyle rapping option.
Currently the app development team has only created an IOS version, but keep a look out cause Facebook’s New Product Experimentation Group has a couple of different collab apps that have been out for some time now. An android version might be on the horizon.
